Created by Warehouse 23

A collection of new monsters for use with the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game, Powered by GURPS!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Greeting from Origins. We heard you were asking about PDFs . . .
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jun 14, 2019 at 03:33:42 PM

Our update earlier this week, What is the "Pyramid Dungeon Collection?", left some of you asking if the collection would be available in PDF. I am sorry for the slow response, but I do have a good excuse for not being on top of the situation: We're at Origins this week! My part of the show is a steady stream of distributor, manufacturing, and press meetings, so while it is a busy show, I can say that my job here is the easiest; the team running the booth and our events works a lot harder here than I ever could!

Anyway, back to the question. The simple answer is "likely yes," but our entire GURPS team is currently focused on other projects and we're not yet ready to turn that "likely" into a "definitely." We will try to remember to post an update here when (if?) we make the Pyramid Dungeon Collection available in PDF. I'll discuss this with the team next week and we'll see what we can plan out before the Monsters 2 book goes onto the container.

And speaking of Monsters 2, I met with our factory rep, David from GPI, yesterday here at the convention. Lots of projects in the works, and everything related to this Kickstarter campaign is currently running smoothly and we still expect the project to ship from the factory next month.

Lastly, we wanted to be sure that all of you were aware of this PDF sale that is running while the team is at Origins. We understand that this may impact your BackerKit selections and wanted to be sure you saw the sale at Warehouse 23 in case it leaves you wanting to change a few of your add-on choices in BackerKit. You can find the complete sale list here.

Any more questions? Ask away, gang! But please understand that I'm unlikely to be fast with the answers until after Origins is over. And if we ever miss a question, you can always email [email protected] for support.

What is the "Pyramid Dungeon Collection?"
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jun 11, 2019 at 10:26:18 PM

We've seen a few of you ask about this softcover add-on, so we dug deep into the situation and have some news for those of you who want to know more about this GURPS book . . . including images!

Pyramid Dungeon Collection, an add-on book of updated Pyramid articles.
Pyramid Dungeon Collection, an add-on book of updated Pyramid articles.

A B&W softcover, 128 pages, this is a "collection of classic material that originated in the first two volumes ofPyramid. All of the features herein have been updated to modern-day GURPS Fourth Edition standards and stats, intended forGURPS Dungeon Fantasy(with an occasional digression to the Dungeon Fantasy RPG). And most of this tome was writ-ten by authors who went on to become GURPS Dungeon Fantasy contributors."

Table of contents.

"This supplement is broken down into three broad sections: Locations, Advice and Ideas, and Adventures. Of course, Pyramid being a magical place where just about anything was possible, some bits defy easy categorization. But, really, the unexpected made real is as well suited for fantasy realms as it is for the legacy ofPyramid."

And the book isn't just a title that we have plans to produce. I snapped photos of the printed proof this morning to show all of you just what to expect from this collection of updated Pyramid articles.

So there is is, details on the book that some of you have been asking about. Sorry it took so long to nail down the exact answer (lots of balls to keep in the air these days), but we hope this clarifies the situation and tells you what to expect from the Pyramid Dungeon Collection.

BackerKit surveys are closed June 23. You may update your survey before that date and our team will receive your final reward and add-on selections after the survey is closed.

And more page samples! The book is in the final proofing stage and there will be no problems including this in your rewards if you choose this add-on title.

PDF Delivery, Project Update
almost 5 years ago – Wed, Jun 05, 2019 at 03:03:47 AM

Two things today:

1. Warehouse 23 has started sending out the PDF of Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2 to those project supporters who selected a reward level that includes the PDF. It may take a day or so for the computers to do their job; please email [email protected] on Thursday if you do not have your PDF.

2. The Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2 book, as well as the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game reprint, are at the factory and in manufacturing. At the moment, it looks like both will leave the factory the first week of August, which puts delivery at the fulfillment warehouse in mid-September. At that time, we'll start shipping all of the rewards; the project is on schedule.

That covers the official news for today. The off-the-record, unofficial news that we're not sharing is that there's a new book in the works that we hope to reveal in a month or two. We're taking what we learned from this Kickstarter campaign and applying those lessons to a new campaign.

And that's it for today, gang! Please let us know if you have any questions.

Manufacturing Update and The Fantasy Trip Unboxing
almost 5 years ago – Mon, May 06, 2019 at 02:38:15 PM

Both the Monsters 2 book and the reprint of the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game box set are at print and the jpeg proofs have been approved. As one of the earliest stages of the manufacturing process, the factory using impositioning software to translate our files to a format that works best for creating the project film, and our team reviews the results of that work before the money is spent to go from digital to film. It is that early stage of manufacturing that is now behind us. Next up? A physical tooling proof, which we should see in early June.

At the moment, the project is on track for release as originally estimated!

The Fantasy Trip "I Want It All" Unboxing Video

If you're a fan of dungeon crawl adventure, you'll want to take a look at The Fantasy Trip, Steve Jackson's first roleplaying game design that was originally published between 1977 and 1980. Steve recovered the rights to The Fantasy Trip in late 2017, and in 2018 we took the game to Kickstarter where it surprised all of us with over 3,000 backers and over $300,000 in support.

For a look at the giant box of Kickstarter goodies -- which started shipping to project supporters in March -- take a look at this unboxing video. And if you missed out on The Fantasy Trip, you can get the complete Steve Jackson Games version of the game line (as it exists to date) by selecting the Everything level in the ongoing Decks of Destiny campaign. This includes the I Want It All box (shown in the video), the Adventures hardcover book, the Hexagram #1 zine, and the new Decks of Destiny expansion loaded with new cards, tiles, and more.
