Dungeon Fantasy Magic Items 2 Coming To Kickstarter In September!

We're at Gen Con, constructing the booth and preparing for the floor to open tomorrow. In the display case at our booth, we will reveal Dungeon Fantasy Magic Items 2, a new book for use with the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game that is scheduled to launch on Kickstarter early in September. (You get early notice, just one of the many perks of supporting this campaign!)

Written by Sean Punch, this book expands your collection of printed support for the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game and, best of all, is through layout and ready to go! 

The Kickstarter campaign in September will launch around the same time that the rewards for Monsters 2 mail out, meaning that Magic Items 2 may close before you receive your Monsters 2 rewards. (Especially if you're outside of the United States; international shipping always takes extra time.) The new campaign will run for less than a week, but that's only so that we can accelerate to the manufacturing stage and, if all goes as planned, start delivering rewards in Decemberof this year! Two new books for the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game in the same year!

FYI, gang. Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2 and the reprint of the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game have both left the factory. At the moment, the shipment is estimated to land at the fulfillment warehouse the end of August, with packages starting to mail out to you in early September.

Container Shipping Next Week

In reviewing projects with our rep at GPI this morning, we verified that the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game reprint, and Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2, are both scheduled to ship next week. That puts delivery at our fulfillment warehouse in late August; everything is on track!

Better still, we're moving forward with the next book (in layout!); be sure to swing by our booth at Gen Con if you're there next month!

Final Production Sample Approved!

This arrived a little earlier than we expected. The factory is now wrapping up final production of the book; the below photos are of the packaged and completed Monsters 2 book. (The journal is not shown, though it will be packed with the book when your rewards arrive.)

We still expect to ship the finished rewards to you in September.

Surveys Closing!

We'll be closing the BackerKit survey in the next day or two, so now is the final call to make any adjustments to your rewards before everything is locked. And for the 45 of you who have not yet completed your surveys, please act ASAP if you want to get your rewards. We cannot fulfill your pledge until you complete your survey, and we will not leave loose threads. Any incomplete surveys will be handled once the finished rewards are in transit from the factory.

When Will Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2 Be In Stores?

We continue to see the question about when Monsters 2 will be released to stores. There is no change to our original plan for the project: We will not be releasing Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 2 to distribution. Some retailers who work directly with us, including the six who backed this project, will have the book for sale in their stores, but we have no plans for a widespread release.

The Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game will be offered to distributors at the new MSRP of $79.95. The game is set to ship to distributors in October, so you will be able to point your friends at the physical game this fall if they want a copy for themselves.

What Is Next?

With the book and the game reprint set to ship from the factory in mid-July, we are starting to turn our marketing and manufacturing attention to the next Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game printed book. Sean has completed a lot of the project -- almost 90% of the writing on the new book is ready to go -- and we'll have everything wrapped up before Monsters 2 lands at the fulfillment warehouse. News to come!

And that's, of course, in addition to the other GURPS projects in the works. Keep an eye on Warehouse 23 for the latest GURPS releases. We'll be back in a few weeks once we have confirmed that the Monsters 2 project has left the factory.
